Who we are, where we come from, and where we're headed as a church family
Here's the deal, Hobart Assembly cares about one thing more than anything else, Jesus Christ. Hobart Assembly is a family of individuals that have found hope in Jesus, and simply want as many people as possible to experience that exact same freedom. One thing you will notice about Hobart Assembly is that we are both generationally and ethnically diverse. We love this! On Sunday mornings, though most of our songs are in English, it is not uncommon for us to sing in Spanish as well.
Hobart Assembly had its humble beginnings in 1938 under the leadership of Rev. James Menzie. Since that time, Hobart Assembly has moved several times. In 1976, Hobart Assembly moved to its present location on Ridge Road in Hobart. Throughout the years, Hobart Assembly has left a lasting legacy of faith, focus on reaching the lost, and seeing transformational change in people's lives as a result of their newfound relationship with Christ.
In October 2006, Pastor Ryan and Rebecca McDowell accepted God's call to pastor the church. Since that time, God has blessed Hobart Assembly with much growth and revitalization. The church has grown over 400% and we now have three Sunday worship services to help meet the needs of the growing congregation.
In following the Holy Spirit's leading, Hobart Assembly has renewed its emphasis on reaching the lost through evangelism and missions.
In 2017, Hobart Assembly began its next stage in God's plan to build yet again. Without a doubt, these are exciting days! If you don't have a home church we invite you to come and be a part.
What's the bottom line? More than ever, Hobart Assembly is committed to fostering an environment built around hope. Hope for the future. Hope for a better life. Hope for our families, our communities and our world. A hope that is found only in Jesus. As our church family expands, we strive to keep love at the center of who we are as followers of Christ. It is our goal to show the love of God to everyone who walks through our doors.
What does this mean for you? Most importantly, you're always welcome at Hobart Assembly. We're saving a seat for you. Wherever you're at in your faith journey, you'll always be accepted as part of the family of faith here at Hobart Assembly.
